    Overview

Digital is changing the world, starting with the way we shop. Today its online shopping and click-and-collect. Tomorrow it will be something not yet imagined. It’s a fast-moving world, where fresh ideas are welcome – along with the pace and flexibility to lead the way.

Kingfisher has built a state-of-the-art digital home – a place where digital creators and innovators like you will come together and shape the digital future for more than 23 million home improvement customers in 1,176 stores in the UK and across Europe.

It’s a chance to be part of something new. A chance to do big things in small, close-knit teams. A chance to feel the energy of a small agency – with the financial resources of a major retailer. And a chance to be rewarded for your talent, creativity and energy as well as your time.

    Responsibilities

As a Kingfisher Visual Designer, you will use your creative skills in the delivery of design solutions for a number of digital services, products and features. With a wide and interesting remit, there is the opportunity to work on services and products from conception through to feature and component delivery.

You will be a part of a multi-disciplined team that deliver innovative and high crafted experiences to our customers; working collaboratively with other Visual Designers, Interaction Designers, Design Researchers, Solutions Architects and Developers.

Day to day you’ll be working with Design Leads and your team to create, test and refine ideas. You’ll be producing light-weight deliverables in a fast paced environment. You’ll work collaboratively with Interaction Designers from the very beginning of the design process, using visual design to define valuable, engaging experiences.

You'll be someone who takes ownership and responsibility for their work, a self-starter who identifies opportunities and potential problems. You'll be able to adapt and flourish in a rapidly changing environment and have excellent attention to detail.

Inquisitive and eager to continuously improve and learn, staying up to date with new technologies, industry and design trends will be part of who you are, naturally collaborative and curious, happy to challenge established thinking and promote new ideas.

We are seeking and individual who...

    • Competently navigates the entire design process from concept, to defining the fine details of user interaction components, through to supporting delivery
    • Extensive knowledge in using design and prototyping tools (eg Sketch, Adobe CC, Principle, Zeplin, InVision / io)

    • Extensive knowledge of web based technologies, and their impact on the feasibility of design
    • Prepare, contribute and conduct creative and stakeholder workshops, ensuring outcome and content is valuable
    • Are the gatekeeper of and accountable for the design craft, consistency and suitability (including accessibility) of the products you and your team work on
